Weekend touring at the Gulf coast

Last weekend, we took the opportunity to tour the area.

We began with a drive to the harbor at Corpus Christi

and an up close look 

of the WWII era aircraft carrier.

The deck was covered with many prior and current aircraft examples

The bridge is a must see

and who could avoid a chance to run this ship.

Then we drove south and across the bridge to Musstang Island and a walk on the beach.

Shallow water fishing by the locals.

Go on up the island and take a ferry ride to Aransas Pass.

A couple of cormorants make the trip as well

as a gaggle of  pelicans.

The ferry docks on the other side and we head back to camp.
