Crystal River, Fla - Week 2

In week 2, Jim, Pat and Stel travelled with Pastor David to Eustis, Fla (an hour & half drive from Crystal River) to prepare this NOMADS work storage trailer for transfer to Crystal River.  The skirt hides the fact that the previous location was on a church grounds and the folks used the underneath of the trailer for storage.
Our job was to remove all the "stuff" and remove the skirt and dismantle the stairs at the rear so that the trailer could be moved.
Finally, with more than a few prayers, the very old trailer was ready to move.
The prayers have been answered and the trailer made it safely to Crystal River.  We will not discuss the legality of all this activity.
Jim, Chic and Stel worked on resetting the trailer to be used by NOMADS teams in the future for their outreach work in this area.  Larry, in the green shirt, stood watch to approve of the efforts.

The electric was reinstalled and once the cross and flame were reattached, the trailer was again ready to go.
Meanwhile, the barbeque shed reconstruction continued.

What looked like a 4 day job is now on its second week.

But, next week is next week.

Crystal River, Fla. Project - Week 1

On Monday, the whole crew, except Larry and Joan who had contracted a virus, went to the Nature Coast Ministries Thrift Stop to clean up, organize and repair as needed and requested.
Some reorganized the store area, some cleaned out storage areas, and some built a cover over the rear dock area to protect donated items as they are dropped off.  The proud contractors are (from left to right) Pat, Kathy, Mike, Ruthie and Stel.
Others organized the show room, sorted hangers and disposed of items no longer of use, and others repaired electrical signs, lights, fans, etc.
Linda and Chic reorganizing the stock. This proved to be a week long project for 6-8 team members

On Tuesday, we began to repair and opening in the Church Tabernacle just behind our camping area.
Jim, Stel, Pat and Gary prepared the opening while Mike went shopping for the supplies needed to close in the opening.
Pat and Gary cut the insulation while Mike and Stel stuffed it in the opening.
Jodi doing a little mid project cleanup.
Jim, Stel, Gary, Pat and Mike close up the opening by putting new panels underneath the old.  The new panels were not long enough to replace the paneling all the way to the roof line.  We finished this job before lunch so it was on the remodel the barbeque shed in front of the tabernacle.
We tore out the old half wall
and built new framing
next day, we tore out the side "half walls" and built new framing for doorways and wall coverings.
That ended the week.  As you can tell, it is still unusually cold for Florida, but things are looking up for the weekend.
