6th week in Wimberly, TX

This week we lost one rig so their are only 12 on the crew.  From the left, Karen and Dale, Sally, Stel, Jodi, Paul, Dave, Judy, Pat, Ken, Carol and Marty.

As the week begins, since the wall mounted cabinets were installed last week, we'll show you the finished areas

East wall

North and west wall

Southwest wall

Cleaning the floor begins in order to install the tile and layout planning is underway.

With a plan prepared, Dave begins laying ceramic tile with assist from Stel.

Marty is setting up the tile saw and preparing the cutting process.

Now that the first rows have been set by Dave, Stel begins to lay tile on the opposite side.

Marty has a combined role of tile cutter and mud mixer.  It's raining so the tent has been set up.  Notice the wet shirt from running the wet saw.
Judy joins Karen as they continue installing wallpaper in the master bath.
Carol is prepping the Dining Room wall for wallpaper,

with assistance from Sally.
Ken and Pat continue cutting ad fitting baseboards for later installation while Paul is stuck with one of the many calls for supplies and job information.

Ken and Pat make a good work team even if he does call her his "nagravator".
Dale is working on trim in garage outside the utility room and

and inside the utility room as well.
The entrance hallway had ceramic tile originally but the new walls left gaps around the edges so Pat

and Ken are adding mud so that there will be support for the baseboards to be installed.
The wallpaper in the master bath is now complete so ...

Judy and Karen break into a celebratory dance.
Paul and Dale (after spending hours locating the main water shut off) are replacing the shut off  valves in both bathrooms.
Paul and Dale preparing to install the vanity in the main bath.
Maneuvering the vanity into that narrow hall and turning it at the same time to enter the bath to the right is the latest of this duo's tricks.
Meanwhile, Sally and Carol are attempting to change doorknobs to match the rest of the house.
Ken and Pat are still cutting baseboards.  Just a little that way Pat.
Now that we've tiled part of the kitchen, there is a break in the action while we install the island cabinets.
Then it's right back to laying tile.
Karen and Judy have moved into the dining room for the accent wall
and Karen has to show off her wallpaper matching shirt
and then it's right back to work.
Only one tiny strip of paper to go so these gals are really going to finish this today.
With the vanity and sinktop installed in the master bath, Dale is connecting the plumbing.
We've tiled most of the kitchen but have to stop here while the cut off those doors so they will clear the new tile.  Of course, the laser level tells us how crooked the walls are which makes figuring the cut more difficult.
Dale is trying his hand at laying tile.
Down to the last section of tile so Marty checks to make sure there is enough mud and works out a plan for cutting the final pieces.
Judy and Carol have been grouting the tile that was laid previously along with

Karen.  As the week closes, they have grouted all the tile that was laid earlier in the week and

Stel places the final tile with Marty ready to clean up the tile saw.
Since we will be leaving this project, here are some final pictures of the kitchen,
and the master bath.
On Friday, our normal day off, 5 NOMADS set out to help the owner of Quest Ranch with his particular mission efforts.  Marty and Paul worked on the "bobcat" to repair the fuel process so that the unit is usable at the ranch.  Dave, Dale and Stel went of with Corky (the owner) to do some work on a house that is under construction for a needy family after the floods.  No pictures of Paul and Marty but a few of the others follow.
This is 1/2 of the house that Quest Ranch is building.

Dave and Corky setting up the generator for our work efforts.
Dale is drilling holes for running the wire.
Dave installing wire boxes.
Stel notching the studs to feed wires around the corners.
And Corky marking the floors for future installations.
That's all from Wimberly this week.  Stel and Jodi are moving on to work in Taft, Tx for the next 3 weeks.  We'll write from there.  See you soon.
