Second week in Jordan, MN

In the second week at Jordan, MN, we continued with some work not yet completed.

Barb begins second coat of finish paint in the coat rack area.
Bev begins the painting of the bathrooms in a restroom in the original building and
Ruth Ann does the same in the other original bathroom.
Stel paints the lower portion of the stairway leading the the original basement.
Coleen, Celia, Bev and Jodi resume staining the wood trim and baseboards,
and applying polyurethene to the stained pieces.
Wow, we finally get a picture of Jodi with the sanding of the trim.
Celia and Barb discuss what to do with all this lumber which is stacked on the pews in the santuary.
This is what they have worked on for two weeks.  Although the congregation has been attending services at another UMC, there is a scheduled wedding here this weekend, so this wood cannot stay here.  We'll figure that out later.
In the meantime, Mike and Steve are working to install the framework for the suspended ceilings.
Jack and Roger are trying to find the center to begin installing  fasteners for the ceiling grid supports.
Roger and Dave are busy installing the gridwork and
Stel and Ruth Ann also got involved in attaching the support system.
Jack and Steve working in another room to install the ceiling gridwork.
This is the result of all that gridwork in the main room of the new building.
The electricians and  heating contractor worked hard late into the evening to install light fixtures and heating work so that our folks could begin installing ceiling panels in the perimeter grids.  Dave, Roger and Steve are tackling this aspect.
Barb couldn't resist helping install the gridwork for ceilings in another room,
and Steve and Jack continue that process.
This is the end product of this weeks work.
This one is for Budsie and only he will understand it's implication.
It's late in the week and we have to get some things straightened up for that wedding so Jack is reinstalling the trim that we removed the first week to fix the floor between buildings and to paint those original bathrooms.
The ceramic tile finally arrived so Mike, Stel and Ruth Ann moved into the new bathroom area to begin installing tile on the walls.
The first row is the hardest and most time consuming for planning but here we go.
Ruth Ann was assigned to figure out how to mix the "thinset" so she gets out the directions.
The church loaned us  a tile saw and Mike and Ruth Ann are giving it a try after adjustments.
Everyone is cutting the tile as needed keep this moving.  Stel tries her hand and
so does Ruth Ann.
Lots of pipes in these bathrooms so Stel is cutting holes in the tile.
Mike and Ruth Ann team up to try to get more done with the limited time we have.
At the end of the week, we've made a good start on the walls here and
here but based on all those pipes, this is not going to go too fast.
Remember that wedding?  Here several people including Dave  and Ruth Ann chip in to move that trim from the sanctuary.
Steve assisting as well as all those ladies that put the finish on them.
Bev cleaning up drop cloths.  Looks pretty good in the end.
These two very special people are Pastor Larry and his wife Vickie from this church.   (He's the one with the Leprechaun shirt.)  This wonderful couple has made dinner for all of us every work night so that we didn't have to cook or run out to a restaurant when we were tired.  Cannot express how blessed we have  been by their service to this project.
The week has gone by too quickly at times.  We want to get so much more accomplished but it will wait 'til next week.  See you then.
