Week 2, Whispers of Hope Horse Farm

Week 2 began indoors for many of us and we are thankful there is indoor work as the weather is horrible.  Here Iva is prepping the office door to the barn so it can be painted if the temps ever rise enough to do so.

And Cathy is sorting paperwork and mail for the office while Iva helps Stel to hang the new blinds.

We ran into many problems because of the wall construction but finally got the first blind installed.

Iva is prepping the paint to touch up the celing repairs in the conference room

The office baseboard replacement and ceiling repairs are done so Jodi, Iva and Cathy are cleaning  both offices.

After hanging the blinds, we decided to clean the windows.  This is the southwest so we are scraping mud out of the window tracks so the screen will go back in after cleaning.

Stel is prepping the window openings for glass installation,

and cutting the trim  to hold the glass and finish the wallboard edges.

 Installing the glass & trim.

Cathy is helping the volunteer staff to sort and bag some horse blankets to prepare them for cleaning and storage.
The owner, Mary Elizabeth, on left, is giving paper work instructions to Susan.

Bill, Warren and David are working with staff member Janice to install the fencing we removed last  week into a new location for corral for the horses.

This is one muddy messy job and thank goodness for the tractor to start the holes and lift the fence parts.

Bill is unloading  his welder to start securing the new fence to the old.

At least is a little warmer this day for Warren who is, however, standing in some pretty deep mud.

The week ended with some decent weather but Friday brought new storms with hideous wind, sleet, a couple inches of snow and freezing rain for the whole weekend.  No church anywhere in Wichita Falls or miles around this Sunday.  Looking forward to a warmer week, God willing.
