Travel & Touring Southwest

We left Pensacola on 1/16 and spent the next week traveling and touring.  Pictures do not do the scenery justice but we have to try.

I-10 West Texas

El Paso, Texas at Night

Visitor's center, Las Cruses, New Mexico

Finally in Arizona
Tombstone, Arizona (THE Bank)

A moment to relax

And be crazy

Watch the Shootout at the OK Corral

The Courthouse

And Boothill, of course

Next day, down the road

Headed up the mountain

and up,

View from the top

Stel, Jodi and the pups climbed about 1/3 mile to the final summit.

Next day near Tucson (pronounced sa-wah-ro)

This is a young cactus, it only has 3 arms

Just beautiful!

The petroglyphs are found in the park.

1 sample

2nd sample

All the above are from the West Park of Sagauro National and the following are from the East Park

The east park is more rugged & closer to the mountains.

A rare blessing of Mule Deer

The last few days have been very rainy.  Most unusual for Arizona and they broke all kinds of records so the desert is flowing on our visit.

Overcast with the rain but nevertheless, beautiful

This was actually our first night in Tucson but it was perfect to close this episode.
